Best of ASCO® 2015 Annual Meeting: This program represents the best of oncology education available and we will invite a large cadre of practitioners within the state to attend. This meeting will be held July 11-12, 2015 at the JW Marriott Miami and will include national and internal experts in their fields representing disease specific expertise in hematology, medical surgical and radiation oncology as it was presented in ASCO and other national and international meetings.
The Best of ASCO® is a mini version of the ASCO Annual Conference made available locally to stimulate attendance for those who may not have the resources to attend the national conference. MCI has obtained the first official license to conduct Best of ASCO ®South Florida, giving local oncologists the opportunity to increase their knowledge about cancer, improve their competence, and enhance practice performance and patient care. This conference will provide an evidence-based, state-of-the-art educational activity that will assist clinicians in making up-to-date, appropriate treatment decisions.
Best of ASCO® will give participants:
• Access to the best 50 abstracts from the ASCO Annual Meeting.
• Two educational sessions from the ASCO Annual Meeting presented by the faculty.
• An opportunity for questions and answers and a chance to interact with the faculty in a small setting where the participants can feel free to ask questions or make any comment that is relevant for them.
This national, two day meeting will be held for the second time in South Florida in July 2015 and will give nearly 300 local oncologists and other cancer professionals the opportunity to experience the Best of ASCO®. In previous meetings, 262 of 350 attendees were physicians and they found the conference to be invaluable in their CME and they found that they would improve their patient care as a result of attending the conference; as a result there are now 5 national every year and more than 20 international meetings all over the world. The curriculum includes topics such as breast cancer treatments, leukemia advances, lymphoma and myeloma therapies and clinical trial results.
