“When Stem Cells Meet Immunology” is the 21st edition of the “Nantes Actualités Transplantation” (NAT) annual event and will be held at the "Cité des Congrès" in Nantes (France) on June 9-10, 2016.
This 21st NAT meeting offers a unique opportunity to bring together the pioneers and leading specialists in the fields of stem cells, biomaterials and immunoregulation.
This edition will focus on multipotent (mesenchymal) and pluripotent (embryonic and induced) stem cells in regenerative medicine approaches. Immune rejection of these cells, from either heterologous or autologous origin, immunogenicity and control of the immune response issues need to be addressed. Conversely, these stem cells are able to directly interact with the immune response, in particular with immunomodulatory effects. They have also become innovative tools for fundamental and biomedical research in the field of immunology.
This meeting is organized in 4 sessions.
Session 1 focuses on advanced cell and organoid-based therapies in Japan, the UK and France.
Session 2 is devoted to the use of stem cells as in vitro sources of human hematopoietic and immune cells.
Session 3 discusses the interplay between the stem cells and the immune system: immunogenicity, immunoregulatory properties and influence of biomaterials.
Session 4 presents the latest advances in strategies to control and to monitor the immune response.
The 21st NAT meeting will take place on June 9-10, 2016. Whether you are a student, a young investigator, a clinician, a basic scientist, a researcher from academia or from industry, please save the date!
