Specialists from various scientific disciplines including forensic pathology, radiology, anthropology, physics, crime scene investigation, engineering, and computer sciences are welcome to participate in the Virtopsy Course to improve their knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of imaging techniques and forensic medicine in lectures and workshops. The Basic Course introduces Post Mortem CT, discusses main findings and reporting and also introduces 3D surface documentation.
The Practical Course then provides detailed lectures, practice and assessment sessions covering hands-on training for Post Mortem CT reporting, post mortem CT angiography, 3D Surface documentation and PMCT reading.
This is the final module of the CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in Forensic Imaging and Virtopsy, a University of Zurich degree. To achieve that title, a casebook of 50 own cases must be submitted, and all three modules of the Virtopsy Courses (Basic, Advanced, Practical) must be visited and assessments passed.
To attend the Virtopsy Practical Course, it is a requirement to have taken both Virtopsy Basic and Advanced Course.
